Why the Knicks Fired Phil Jackson: Grading all of his decisions!

In this video, I outline the various moves that Phil Jackson made during his time as the New York Knicks' team president. Eventually, Jackson's ego got in the way of his ability to construct a viable contending team, and the team owner James Dolan decided to part ways with Jackson for fear of losing Carmelo Anthony or Kristaps Porzingis, both of whom had been fighting with Jackson as a result of his comments about them. It is now unclear whether or not Melo will stay or attempt to join his friends and fellow superstars in Chris Paul in Houston, or Lebron James in Cleveland.

Regardless, Jackson's tenure with the knicks will be remembered as a total and complete failure, and his previously impressive legacy as a player and especially a coach, will be forever tainted. Goodbye "Zen Master," and have a happy retirement, because no sane person would ever hire you to be a GM, coach, or team president, especially if you try to implement the triangle again.

Triangle offense is a talent base offense success with that depends on the pkayers understanding of the game…dennis, ron, horry, rick, n ofcourse the key players all known to have high basketball IQs

Justin Holiday was a good pick-up in the trade for Rose, he really picked up his play and was a key contributor off the bench.

You know what's funny; Phil was probably right about Kristaps. And the fact that he was trying to trade him for Booker says a lot.

Knicks have won 2018, 2019, 2020 NBA Championships since letting Phil go, good decision to let Phil go, Carmelo was NBA Finals MVP in 2019-2020 with Knicks

He was also responsible for the Tyson Chandler Trade to Dallas. We could have received better value for that.
Calderon and Dalembert? Smh.

Signing Melo to that ridiculous contract was an obvious mistake at the time.

Does the name Eddie Curry mean anything ? Or was he B4 Phil Jax? Mcdyes was years ago. KP was the only good thing Phil Jackson did and I think he was an " I hope hes gonna be good pick " I dont know the french point guard, but I do know that Phil saw euro talent and was hoping for a gem, like Porzingus. Then he could claim that he had scouted him.

Phil Jackson was a genius.... He saw the Mavs roster today 4 years ago.

If you read his book "11 rings" you will understand why he succeeded in Chicago and LA and failed in NY. That Knicks team didn't want to be a part of his philosophy and playing style. The way he worked with his former teams was revolutionary, especially his approach to the players. The triangle is not for the best playersgives opportunities for the mediocre players to sign, but it demands good knowledge of the fundamentals which modern player lack. With all the social media and exposure, they believe that they are bigger than the game and they know everything about it and they are not willing to listen to the legends.
