The most southern part of Canada is more south than the most Northern part of California. In other words, a part of Cali is more north than a part of Canada.

It is counter intuitive but many Canadians have to drive north to get to many parts of the USA. Not just the obvious one which would be Alaska. Extreme Southern Ontario aligns to Northern California.
