Spiral Socks!

Tim recently received a package in he post, containing... spiral socks! These socks do not have a built in heel, so they can be put on in any orientation. Thus the wear on the socks, which is often mostly on the heel, is now distributed all the way around the sock! Plenty of patterns for knitting spiral socks, if you look online!

Tim then brings out his mittens that he bought in Iceland. These each have two thumbs, so when the palm of the mitten wears out, you can switch the mitten around, so the back of the mitten now becomes the new palm.

Finally, Tim recalls a laundrette in New York which he used to use, which was called 'That Missing Sock'.

I love these socks! I always have a spare pare when I travel/adventure just in case someone ends up with wet feet and needs to warm up, they universally fit all feet.

Easiest way to reverse a mitten is to put it on the other hand. But I appreciate that the thumb is better if it's slightly forward

I understand the mittens, but wouldn't the front of the sock bunch up due to curve between the leg and the foot? I suspect that the additional pressure on the heel from a straight tube would cause them to wear out faster, (but that is a hypothesis that I haven't tested.)
