Important point about beam design

This video is about important points for beam design.

1. Beam should have width to depth ratio of more than 0.3.
2. Minimum width of beam = 20mm
3. Overlapping should not be less than75cm.
4. Beam depth should not be more than 1/4 of clear span.
5. In overlapping zone, spacing of stirrups should not exceed 150mm.

I was always told that the Beam Ratio should be Height to Width = 1.5:1
>
1/1.5 = not 0.3
1, 5/1 = 1.5 not 0.3

Also I was taught that Lapping at the bottom of a Beam should be at the ends because they are in compression, whereas the middle is in tension. Your lessons perplex me.

If you have a time pls do a video on mm to sooter conversion of all bars. Like suppose if I say I've 3 Sooter bar means 3/8" so its equal to 8mm. Similarly if I say I have 4 Sooter bar like 4/8" its equal to 10mm. Pls do these real comparisons of all Steel Bars in Sooter to mm conversions.
