You can see its true power consumption more clearly when you're powering it through the lipo battery pack via the JST connector. When running the device through USB power, the device is running a voltage converter onboard, which gives off a bit of heat AKA wasted energy.

I run Heltec V3's as repeaters, and they routinely get 4-5 days use out of 2000mah battery.
