8bitdo: N64 Bluetooth Controller - RetroPie Setup

Показать описание
Overview of the N64 bluetooth controller by 8bitdo and Retrobit. A fantastic replica of the original and now without wires!
I used RetroPie 4.1 (updated to March 11th 2017) in the video.

I'd recommend using Mupen64Plus as the emulator rather than the libretro core:

N64 bluetooth controller firmware:

RetroArch controller file (no hotkeys in this)

That is a collaboration made in heaven. Nice! In terms of raw amount of inputs this one's at the very top. 6 action buttons, d-pad, analog stick, 2 shoulders, a trigger, and a start button. 14 buttons + analog O_o Woah.. That's a lot of buttons.

I'm gonna pick a couple up right away! Thansk for the exposure, and for running through the optimal installation process. You're doing hella good work floob, much appreciated!

The Retropad concept is the most needlessly complicated invention ever.

I would swap the top of the legit Nintendo controller with the retro bit and have a Frankenstein original wireless controller lol

You lost me at 26:05. How do you select one of the ‘C’ buttons for the menu?

I wish 8bitdo would make Sega controllers.

I've one major problem with retro-bit. They seem to enjoy making d-pads loose in their casing. Either the d-pad is too slim or the casing is too large. In my case, my retrolink USB SNES clone controller has both.

hey there
so as I see it all the n64 pads look quite nice but the problem is the analoge stick...
some people say its either full speed or off... with means its impossible to walk slowly with mario or aim exactly...
is this true?

Hey Floob, nice video by any chance are you able to make a video how to get the original n64 to work in retropie. I got the adapter to plug it in. But unable to make it properly.

I would love to see a 3-button Sega controller or a 6-button that was as big as the 3-button controller. The larger size of the 3-button controller is more comfortable in my big hands.

ironically this is the least portable but best control for using with your phone. I have the SNES adapter, but the leverage of the phones weight gets hard to hold. an N64 control would give the grip in your palm to hold it.

Could you please update the bottom-most link in the description (RetroArch controller file)? It seems to have broken.

Too much faffing around with stuff that did not work, rather than a simple walk through.

Thanks for the video. I was able to pair the RB8-64 in Wii U mode. The system appeared to recognize the device as a Wii Remote. After multiple tries, I was able to get to the vWii screen on Wii U. However I had no controls there to select tiles on the vWii screen. Anyone know if it is possible to use the RB8-64 instead of a Wii Remote? Will this controller work to control Gamecube titles? Will it control N64 virtual console titles within vWii? SNES, NES? Thanks!

I see they used the lame N64 original stick. That would break in no time.
