How to Master Chopin Arpeggios 🔥

Chopin-style arpeggios ⬇️

These arpeggios (from Op. 10 No. 1), consist of widely spaced chords that contain 4 notes.

These 4 notes are broken apart - (played separately), then repeated up and down the octaves.

This creates a nice overlapping pattern. You can apply this to any 4 note chord.

When practicing them, it is helpful to keep these groupings in mind.

You may first want to focus on the first note (going up = the thumb). Emphasize it a bit and really “place” them.

Then play the first 2 notes together, and repeat. This works on the transition between the chord position changes up and down the octaves.

Repeat this type of process for other pairs of notes as well.

Other methods to consider: rhythmic (dotted note) practicing, repeating notes, repeating pairs of notes, etc.

Hope that helps!

Nahre Sol, you are magic. The lovely amazingness I’ve been able to derive from your music, your style (artistically/ visually and musically), intuition, thoughtfulness, your channel — and everything in between really ….is astronomical (in fact, I find myself rewatching many old videos/ content when I’m being impatient for the next upload 🌚)

This comment may seem like the result of a serendipitous encounter, (I just so happen to have finally picked this etude to learn next and have been very unconfident in sticking to it lately; the arpeggios are so straightforward i.e. there really is nowhere to hide if ‘necessary’ lol, and my fourth finger has been showing signs of distress from lack of proper practice.) but I think I would’ve found a way to say the above in some other variation regardless. It does seem a little strange to see a comment like this on a YT short practice video, but please believe me when I say this is just the result of compounded unadulterated appreciation for your work!!!

Please keep doing what you love and inspires you 🧡 (as often as or ideally more often than the YouTube algorithm will allow you…)

The most amazing thing is being able to listen to AC/DC in the headphones while you’re doing this.
