A very complex project, good to have it explained and a class 90 in shot to boot.

Needs to be finished by the summer of 2030 as the RMT have a series of one day strikes planned.

A very complex subject explained simply yet informatively. Thank you and let's have more of the same.

Well done Sir!
This is indeed a highly complex bit of civil engineering and you got to grips with it very well. 👏👍

Thank you for this video. Helps to explain the massive works being undertaken that I see regularly on approach to Euston. Subscribed.

*Missed opportunity:* Should've connected HS2 to HS1 using Stratford International as the main London stop. This could've provided a south-east to north-west England service, connecting Ashford International and Dover Priory, with the Midlands and Manchester.

Wow, I, lived in Ampthill square 50 plus years ago, and to see the rail expansion is quite a feat.

How did you get up to the place where you are filming from at the very start of the video? And what it is the building, where you are at, called?

Very interestring video, thank you.

It was also good to see the swallow liveried class 90 hauling the Intercity mk 3s too :)

Very informative video. I hope to see more HS2 content on the channel. Keep up the good work👍

Very good video. On general engineering, I don't think the HS2 decision to terminate at Euston was properly thought out. Why not at St. Pancras, where through trains could go directly to the Chunnel? Through trains would then not need additional platforms, and the lower levels of St. Pancras, which are quite considerable could have been used for Domestic Terminations or could even have run East-West at St. Pancras. The additional tunnelling distance to St. Pancras would have been £Billions cheaper than the present scheme and a whole lot less disruptive providing better connectivity.

awesome engineering, simply explained so I can understand it.

So the entire approach and the new station platforms are all going to be covered or within tunnels? No wonder this is going to take ages to build!

Does look compliacated but agree with taking down one road at a time, great video

As a train driver, i love the track design approach to the station, with the down tunnel in the middle, this will guarantee that one train can go in as another goes out no matter which platforms are used.

Should be fantastic for capacity

Thanks for this but if you can provide any further explanation of the 2 up lines and how this would work in terms of crossovers or even talk through the layout if you have it, that would be great.

Would be interesting to visualise what they have planned for the box, it will be quite an eyesore! A lot of troll accounts in the comments section! "HS2" seems to attract the bots

When is the bridge carrying Hampstead Road being demolished?
