I Love The Night - Blue Öyster Cult (1977) HD Audio & Video
Показать описание
"I Love the Night" was released on Blue Oyster Cult's fifth studio album, Spectres, in the winter of 1977. The record received some lackluster reviews at the time of release, mainly due to the fact that the band had turned away somewhat from the classic sound and dark, indecipherable lyrics towards a more pop rock sound. (Their next studio album, 1979's Mirrors, usually receives the brunt of the criticism for the more single orientated change in course, but it really started here on Spectres.) I'm a huge fan of both the dark earlier work and the later stuff....and it does seem that time has tempered the disdain some critics and fans had for both some of these mid period albums....and the true BOC fans love it all! :-)
This is an update to an old BOC video that wasn't too bad as the early ones go, but a few weeks ago, a fan suggested I give it an update and I thought that sounded like a good idea and a way to delay working on something new. ;-) There were a few pretty grim bits that have now been replaced with relatively less grim bits. The audio is taken from 96KHz/24bit FLAC from the newest remasters....which are very nice indeed. Hope you enjoy the vid, and of course....what's not to like about this glorious tune? Thanks to old friends and new for watching and keeping my hobby going. Stay safe all.
The 2012 Blue Oyster Cult boxset (The Complete Columbia Albums Collection (17 Disc Box Set)....is an absolutely stunning remaster of all BOC's albums, and if you are a fan of this band you really owe it to yourself to hear these albums for the first time.....this music has never sounded so fantastic! (Well, since vinyl days that is!)
I've created many vids for Blue Oyster Cult tracks, including ("The Vigil", "Godzilla", "Nosferatu", "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Morning Final" and several others...check 'em if you're so inclined.
[Lyrics]
That night her kiss told me it was over
I walked out late into the dark
The misty gloom seems to soak up my sorrow
The further I went on
I felt a spreading calm
Then suddenly my eyes were bathed in light
And the lovely lady in white was by my side
She said "Like me I see you're walking alone
Won't you please stay?"
I couldn't look away
She said
I love the night
The day is OK and the sun can be fun but I live
To see those rays slip away
I love the night
There's so much I can show and give to you
If you will welcome me tonight
If only you had been there my dear
We could have shared this together
No mortal was meant to know such wonder
One look in the mirror told me so
Come darkness I'll see her again
Yes I'm gonna go
'Cause now I know
I love the night
The day is OK and the sun can be fun but I live
To see those rays slip away
I love the night
I love the night
I love the night
