The second example is helical gear I believe. Spur gears have straight cut teeth parallel to the axis.

i tried this but when I fixed the big gear, the smaller gear can still be dynamically rotated. what am I missing? is it possible for creo to automatically constrain the smaller gear when the big gear is constrained?
