The General did not answer the last question. He only described a situation we already know and said what Israel wants to do.

If American general Keane says it’s going to be tough that’s a bit worrying

“Humiliating to Iran” is a curious observation given that their culture thinks in terms of hundreds/thousands of years when retribution is involved. Our country is 250 years old. We think in more immediate terms. This conflict is thousands of years in the making. Keane is right, no doubt. But this is not as simple as some try to portray. And, where’s the UN while all this plays out ? The Lebanon border issue is only unresolved for 15 or so years ? Let alone the previous decades.
Corruption rules in the UN, not governance.

Entirely possible all of Lebanon may end up like Beirut in the early 80s.

Who thinks Harris is 1000X worse than Biden?

I am not military but I think the general is correct. Keeping Hezbo at bay after pushing them back beyond the Litani is the ultimate challenge. What would prevent them from coming back? They don't care about the UN resolutions; the UN peacekeepers are worthless, as proven time and time again, etc. It seems to me that there needs to be a regime change in Lebanon, the establishment of a real gov, not a bunch of puppets beholden to Iran. How to do it, I don't know, but maybe Israel does.

Who would want to move back if the threat is always going to be there?

I have been to that border and seen the Litani River. I can jump across it. These parts we would call it a creek or rivulet.
Well actually no one would say “rivulet”. ☕️

How long does the IDF need to be in south Lebanon? Well, that's where the UN should come in - re UN Res 1701. They've got 11, 500 troops - how's about doing something useful?
