The Forester Gets Stuck on the Mohawk Snow Run

My daughter and I make a brief run up into the local hills after an unusual western Oregon snowstorm, yielding our first ever opportunity to require a recovery effort.

I only make this comment to help the next time, @3:22 being pulled out by the dodge you should have turned your wheels in the opposite direction. He was pulling your rear towards the center and turning your wheels to the left would have steered your front to the center. This only works if you are being pulled by another. Matt's Towing youtube channel proves this works over and over. Great videos, keep them coming.

We just received a dumping of snow here in the Mojave desert of SoCal and I decided to take my lifted outback for a spin. Like your forester, I got stuck for the first time. Unlike your forester, it was an unsuspectingly deep drainage bar on a snowy dirt road that captured my rig. Luckily I always bring a shovel 😉

Great video as always, Definitely the worst parts of upper elevation snow traveling is other people .Right before Christmas I was heading back from Detroit Lake The back way through Estacada, saw a vehicle coming towards me and so did the normal thing and pulled off as far as I could into the snow bank To allow him to get close to me and then try to do the same and if he can’t allow me to drive around him. Nope the guy never slowed down Couldn’t move it out of the snow tracks so He ended up clipping the side of my car dented the fender broke the mirror scratch the whole side of it . There was nothing else I could really do considering I was already at a stop LOL no one was hurt it’s just a car .My Forrester has had a pretty rough first 9000 miles lol I think it may be cursed

The boards don’t matter the actual weight of the car is on the snow, back up if you can’t jump on the top of the car settle wheels left and right. Your out west so snow is different but back east I had all four tires off the ground what got us out is my mother and law lean I mean smushed the hood wheels back on the ground out easy peeze and this is 1 1/2 ‘ to 2’ heavy snow
