Minecraft is a game that needs no introduction.

Born on June 1, 1979, in Stockholm, Sweden, Markus Persson developed an early interest in computers and programming during his childhood. Growing up, Persson experimented with various programming languages and began creating small games as a hobby. After completing his compulsory military service in Sweden, he worked various jobs in the tech industry while continuing to hone his programming skills in his spare time. In 2009, Persson began working on what would become his most significant project yet: "Minecraft." Drawing inspiration from games like Dwarf Fortress and Infiniminer, Persson aimed to create a sandbox-style game that emphasized exploration, creativity, and survival. Initially, the game lacked many of the features that would later become integral to its identity, but it laid the foundation for what would become a groundbreaking gaming experience. By May 17, 2009, the first public version of Minecraft was released as a browser-based game known as "Classic." This version allowed players to freely build and explore within a procedurally generated world composed of simple blocks. Despite its rudimentary graphics and limited gameplay mechanics, Minecraft Classic garnered a dedicated following and laid the groundwork for future iterations of the game. As Minecraft gained popularity, Persson continued to iterate on the game, introducing new features and improvements with each update. One of the most significant milestones came with the release of Minecraft Alpha on June 30, 2010. This marked the transition from the free Classic version to a paid model and introduced survival mode, where players had to gather resources, craft tools, and fend off hostile mobs to survive. Over the following years, Minecraft underwent rapid development, with frequent updates adding new content, features, and gameplay mechanics. Notable updates during this period include the addition of creative mode, which gave players unlimited resources to build and explore without the threat of danger, as well as the introduction of multiplayer support, enabling players to collaborate and compete in shared worlds. On November 18, 2011, Minecraft officially left beta status with the release of version 1.0, also known as the "full release." This marked a significant milestone in the game's development, signaling its transition from an indie project to a fully realized commercial product. Despite reaching this milestone, development on Minecraft continued, with Mojang Studios committed to providing ongoing support and updates to the game. Minecraft's success continued to grow, attracting millions of players from around the world and inspiring a vibrant community of modders, content creators, and enthusiasts. The game's open-ended nature and emphasis on creativity led to the emergence of various player-driven projects, including elaborate builds, custom game modes, and even educational initiatives that leveraged Minecraft as a teaching tool. In September 2014, Microsoft announced its acquisition of Mojang Studios, the developer behind Minecraft, for a staggering $2.5 billion. Despite initial concerns from the community about the implications of this acquisition, Microsoft reassured fans that it would respect the autonomy and creative vision of Mojang Studios, allowing the team to continue developing Minecraft independently. Under Microsoft's ownership, Minecraft has continued to thrive, receiving regular updates, expansions, and spin-off titles. These include Minecraft: Story Mode, an episodic narrative-driven adventure game, and Minecraft Dungeons, a dungeon-crawling action RPG set in the Minecraft universe. Additionally, Minecraft has expanded its reach beyond gaming, with merchandise, books, and educational initiatives further cementing its status as a cultural phenomenon. In conclusion, the history of Minecraft is a testament to the power of creativity, community, and innovation in the world of gaming. From its humble beginnings as a passion project by Markus Persson to its status as a global phenomenon under the stewardship of Mojang Studios and Microsoft, Minecraft has captivated audiences and left an indelible mark on the industry with its enduring popularity and ongoing development. Now, with that out of the way, I’d like to talk about the top ten best blocks in Minecraft.

Hey, I stumbled across your video on my recommended. I got into Minecraft at the age of 5 on my Xbox in 2015, and I am tired of all of the updates Mojang have added to the game! I don't think anyone at my age (13) realise how LEGENDARY and NOSTALGIC old Minecraft is! I mean, LOOK at that SPOOKY FOG!!! Really brings me back to the good ol' Herobrine days. Thank you so much for sharing this video with all of us. Because of this extremely well-made video, I'm gonna play Beta for a week and make an hour-long video of me complaining about the rudimentary features while bashing and nitpicking every modern feature. This is life-changing content. I am experiencing so much NOSTALGIA from all of the game footage and music! You've earned a sub!

I feel you should explain things better and not rush; you’re making a lot of assumptions about what the audience knows. For example, what is a Sweden?

From 1945 to 1947, eighteen human test subjects were injected with plutonium without informed consent. The tests were used to create diagnostic tools to determine the uptake of plutonium in the body in order to develop safety standards for working with plutonium. Ebb Cade was an unwilling participant in medical experiments that involved injection of 4.7 micrograms of plutonium on 10 April 1945 at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This experiment was under the supervision of Harold Hodge. Other experiments directed by the United States Atomic Energy Commission and the Manhattan Project continued into the 1970s. The Plutonium Files chronicles the lives of the subjects of the secret program by naming each person involved and discussing the ethical and medical research conducted in secret by the scientists and doctors. The episode is now considered to be a serious breach of medical ethics and of the Hippocratic Oath.
