You know... That steel pipe bending test is a true horror, every time I see it, it scares the sh*t out of me! Although none of your knives have broken yet.
Great job, Cold Steel!

@csknives very impressed on how you guys handle the same negative comments over and over. Some people are just to damn smart for their own good :). Love your products and the proof that only your company provides. Thanks
Jacob

I as a knife maker appreciate you standing by your products because as youre well aware, you have those cutomers who are fans and those people who are not and you know you cant make everyone happy so you just do your thing regardless. As for the strong moral argument of "cs sells to bad guys"... "if guns are outlawed than only outlaws will have guns" makes me think "hm, if theyre worried about a master tanto being pulled on them, then why not carry a magnum tanto to retaliate with?" :p

Just bought this knife tonight! Should be here on Sunday. I wish it was still made in Japan, but I'm certainly not complaining.

The Cold Steel Tanto was the very first blade I spent over $100 for back in the early 80's.  Subsequently I bought a Master Tanto with San Mai.  I suppose an early one because mine has a brass hilt and butt as opposed to stainless.  Awesomely strong razor sharp hard-edged blade.  This vid just prompted me to take it out of storage and polish it up.  Thanks for the video.

I have the old version of this knife with the brass. This is a tough thick knife. It is a impressive knife. It may not be as long as a bowie but it will cut.

Is it just me or does anyone else flinch when they bend their knives/swords?

Cement blocks, when not mortared in place break easily when hit on the side, but it's nice to know that if a block attacks, I'll be able to defend myself!

@w00tkid

It's a tanto style knife. Which basically translates to a very powerful and strong tip used for thrust cutting (aka stabbing) try this with a normal knife and your guaranteed to A.) Break the tip, or B.) bend it

I really like this knife, but for some reason the KA-BAR D2 is still my #1 selection.

Definetely. I have myself few of Cold Steel knives, had even opportunity to play with the master tanto as my friend has one, and they're great in my opinion. And I have their bokken - I believe it could smash a real brick after watching my friend smash an iron pipe in half with several hits. And I actually enjoy their spotlights for every product. They show durability, cutting and stabbing abilities on things we know from our backyard so we can catch glimpse of what it's capable of.
