7. Two sets of fakes were purchased from China for $24.99 CAN for the purpose of this video. The wear tests of the fakes do not hold up to that of the originals. In under a week of normal wear the soles on the fakes were deteriorating, something that does not happen to originals. Even the abuse of skateboard use did not damage the originals. These fakes do not last, nor do they remain in decent condition after wear.

Dude is kind of on point, but also kind of off. Vans has literally 1000's of variations. And that's including Floor Models, Direct From Retail and Show Models. Alot of these aren't even released directly to the public, they are even more exclusive then some Vans releases Exclusives. And with these, Show Models for example, they may not have the sizing tags inside the tongue, they may only have the size printed inside the tongue because they aren't meant to sell, they are meant for modeling. But these are made with the same materials. They're just about as exclusive as it gets aside from fake Gucci, Supreme, ect. customs that people print themselves. Now those, even though they may be 'real vans', they are fake knock offs that someone printed or colored themselves. Be aware, I mean vans go anywhere from 35 bucks to 1, 000 bucks and up. And I'm a Van's head myself, have easily just under 100 pairs set up in Drop Front Boxes and others that I haven't worn, just collect. But yes, there are fake Vans out there, but there are so many variations, you can't rely on just a video to give you all of the 'this means it's fake' staples. And aside from that, I've ordered a slew of Vans from the Vans online store a some times you get a pair that is noticeably a bit of a manufacturer error. I just send them back and get a new one if it's in stock. But some, you can't get a new one because once their sold out, their gone. Got the all white Mickey old schools, came in with a small black mark on the back side of the right shoe. Wanted to send it back for a new one, but Vans had already sold out of my size. So, I kept them, their collectors. Some of these so called 'fakes' are just manufacturering errors. Just a little info on the topic.

I bought one from the thrift store and I’ve never seen the design anywhere else before. From the stitching, I would assume it’s original because it’s near perfect. The shoe also feels solid and heavy but I’m just curious as to whether this shoe was a vintage or really old model which was discontinued. Anyone willing to verify this for me I would be highly appreciative

If anyone’s asking “why would they make a fake inexpensive shoe” people like myself make custom shoes and buy shoes in bulk, so you have to be careful of what you buy.
