What is AI? How and when it is going to have an impact in our lives?

Everyone is talking about Artificial Intelligence today? But what is it? How and when it is going to have an impact in our lives?

Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is a branch of computer science. It deals with the stimulation of intelligent behavior in computers.

AI is a suite of technologies where machines automatically learn and adapt to a specific environment.

Artificial Intelligence is playing a major role in industry, businesses, society, and in our everyday lives.

From deep learning to natural language processing, we interact with AI in one way or another on a daily basis. Sometimes without realizing we are doing it.

Robots can now take on many of the most repetitive jobs performed by humans with more accuracy, and much faster. But robots are not the only ones with embedded AI.

AI will let humans switch to more skillful and better jobs.

It only requires some training in new skills. But isn't life a constant learning process after all?

Humans will be able to work less hours, having more free time to enjoy life, family, hobbies, and friends.

I would like to leave a constructive opinion, in fact, a reflection. Excuse me for my ignorance, but, correct me, please, if I got it wrong. All the videos I saw about the SUPPOSED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and the SUPPOSED MACHINE LEARNING, including this video, only say what the concept is, and what they (the SUPPOSED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and the SUPPOSED MACHINE LEARNING) are for, but, do not show how they are produced, that is, it is not shown how these miracles happen. In short: it seems that it is a speculation, or a lie, or an imagination in the minds of those who say that they exist, or just a retransmission of what others say, or a belief. It remains unclear, whether ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and MACHINE LEARNING, are behaviors that are in the programming algorithm, pre-programmed, or, if they are behaviors that the program does without the algorithm, and that the program would write that algorithm by himself (which would be impossible with today's technology), and would have more lines in the algorithm, or some change in the code (as if it were an invisible hand writing more lines of code or changing the algorithm). They say there is programming involved, but it is unclear, without explanation, if it is already existing programming (and, in this case, there is no machine learning or artificial intelligence); or, if an algorithm appears that was not written by someone. Stay there, the reflection!

Nice video, however at 1:20 you mention "Humans will be able to work less hours, having more free time to enjoy life, family, hobbies, and friends". This is a fallacy. History shows us the truth. We have always improved our technology with your above statement being the goal, but it never happens. The more technology improves, the more we look to improve technology further, which means we continue to work just as much. The nature of work changes, but the amount of time we work hasn't changed that much.
