Very cool setup - while the idea makes perfect sense to me, I would've never figured it out myself if I needed to make a spiral (in particular the attention to the universal joints).
Minor nitpick: At 4:56, that is not actually what a helix looks like from the side, a sine shape would be more accurate. A way to see this is to consider a point moving along the helix at constant speed (like the tool when threadcutting), then in the perspective on the right, it would be moving down at constant speed and swinging left and right sinusodially (since it would be tracing out a circle as seen from above), which will trace out a sine shape. But it was clearly meant as a side note anyway and doesn't really matter, and the important points were all clear.

Your English is positively advanced compared to our Vietnamese . Be proud of your accomplishments in English. 😁

Honestly as a native English speaker who interacts with a lot of people from South East Asia, your pronunciation is one of the clearest I’ve heard. Yes you have an accent but everything you said was clearly understandable which is tough to do with technical speech.

Aside from that thank you so much for the detailed explanation of your amazing work. I always jump on your videos when they come out and I can’t wait to see what you do next.

This dude is one of the ultra rare natural born talents in machining. This guy is evidence of what is possible. Self-taught and already well beyond what many seasoned machinists and machinery builders alike can pull off. Pretty humbling stuff on this channel, I must say.

Hats off to you sir. Also your English is more than adequate for your explanations. Very, very good job.

We understand your English just fine, sir. I really appreciate the explanations and I hope to hear more in your videos in the future, as I feel it does a great job connecting us to your work. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Cà Lem, you are living proof that genius knows no bounds or limitations. You find a way and no obstacle stops you!
You've come a very long way from that first antique lathe that you rebuilt with nothing in the way of tools or experience.
You are an inspiration to people all over the Earth! What an incredible story!
I absolutely admire everything that you've accomplished! It is nothing short of astounding what you've done with no experience, training, or proper tools!
You are the Einstein and Tesla of Vietnam!
Wow!
You are a treasure, truly a treasure!
Thank you for going the extra mile (or kilometer :) and sharing the incredible things that you make!
Thank you!

While you say that your English sucks, I think that it made you work harder to make a fantastically clear explanation of what you did. Definite thumbs up!

This was my fourth time watching this video, and I want you to know how much it makes me smile every time that I see the 6 jaw chuck which YOU built on the Mori Seiki which YOU brought back to life, and the same for the Bridgeport. You have SO much to be proud of, and are an inspiration to the rest of us who are privileged to watch you do these things. Thanks as always for taking the time to bring us along!

That was most definitely a better explanation of spirals than any of my teachers at my tradeschool here in Germany could give

Your English along with your diagrams were excellent. The design of the dividing head plus the drive train and VFD was absolutely BRILLIANT. I AM IMPRESSED. !!

Your English is better than many native speakers. Your machining is next level. Please, don't be embarrassed to speak! I will happily work through your language barriers to learn.

Outstanding work and problem solving. You are in a small group of people that can do this and explain it clearly in a second language. Thank you for sharing your creativity and ingenuity with us!

Thanks for bringing this process to light. At first when you look at the set up it looks like a Rube Goldberg contraption but thanks to your description it all makes sense. Thanks for all your hard work.
