The NEX-VG10 is compatible with Sony E-mount Series of smaller, lighter lenses which are optimized for video shooting with silent operation and autofocus, as well as Sony α and Konica Minolta A-mount lenses (via optional LA-EA1 adapter).

The NEX-VG10 has the same sensor format that Sony builds into the full-sized α DSLRs. With 19.5 times the surface area of conventional camcorders8, the large Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor makes capturing cinematic video with a shallow depth of field a breeze.

The Quad Capsule Spatial Array stereo microphone contains four precision placed microphone capsules to provide exceptional front-side directivity and stereo separation. There's also a microphone jack for external microphones as well as a stereo headphone jack for precise audio monitoring.

@metalheadproduction NO. Gain control is an option that some(leaning more into the professional world) camcorders have. It is a way to lighten your image(the video being recorded) digitally, adding camera generated white/light dots to your image to brighten it up. SOME gain is ok when absolutely needed. Gain lowers the quality of the image allot, it makes the resolution look low. White balance is the way the camera's sensor picks up the color white in different light tempters.

@chatteyj Sony would have to bring out digital zoom lenses to fix that problem, it would be impossible to make the current alpha/nex lenses zoom due to the fact that they are purpose built manual zooms, and theres no way on earth theyll be able to change that in a firmware update :)

@HardcoreGoomba nice, when i get a job, im deff gonna buy this camera, cuz i wanted somthing like a vx or and fx or somthing but i hate having to record on mini dv tapes and this is the only nice camera i found that uses hard drrive

@mellowbeatz Mmmm Volume isnt the factor for you (that can always be fixed in camera) but this one has no auto focus, meaning you have to manually move a ring on the lense to keep things in focus, depending on what exactly your doing in said club, this could be more cumbersome then helpful, but not impossable....

would this camcorder take excellent HD video of sports, like basketball, baseball, football, etc. without the motion blur? What about if you pan from side to side to catch the action, will it have inter lacing problems? What camcorder would you recommend for capturing sports or any activity with a lot of motion?

@The2010SnowDay There is no such thing as 3-D lens. Search in YouTube "James Cameron Camera" and you'll see that 3-D camera uses TWO lenses, that follow the subject. So even if they make 3-D lens for that camera, lens will be twice size as camera.

I LOVE how this cam has a PRO style look to it !!! Gotta be the lens :) Question is it WORTH the money
