I love our region. I love cooking German and Polish recipes. I grew up eating German/Hungarian and also Polish/Ukrainian foods.
OMG yes on the PA! I've often wondered why we say PA and others don't do that but I am ok with that.

Helga, I just binge-watched your videos for the last 2 hours...and subscribed! I'm from the Lehigh Valley and my family makes similar recipes, as I'm PA Dutch on my mom's side and Austro-Hungarian/Croatian on my dad's side. I also get up to Knoebel's at least once a year (haha). I enjoy that you're a real cook and not like the sterilized, Stepford wife-type cooks you often see on YouTube. It's also fun to see how you make the PA Dutch recipes vs. how my family does (such as potato filling) and also seeing recipes I've never heard of before (such as turnip casserole) that I want to try. Anyway, just wanted to say "hello" as a new subscriber.

Helga Hey this is John again I live in Tennessee but I'm from PA well one thing that I missed down here also is all the churches in Coal region would make peanut butter eggs and creme eggs and everything for Easter you can't find them down here either the only thing I found down here that I actually like is Louisiana tea bags they make a great sweet tea

Helga, found you by accident was watching Mike's videos tried coal region bbq it was awesome we had it two nights one week My grandmother was from a small town near Lancaster so we had pigeons a lot. Wish I'd written all these recipes down anyway, thanks for your show gonna make some pies today.

Hi Helga, since most of us these days have to avoid wheat, I was wondering if you would look into making some recipes with coconut flour. I'm told that it's comparable to baking with wheat. They recently came out with Keto Buns which are made with coconut flour. It really helps with losing weight. Bcos the gluten is so large in the wheat, it doesn't get digested very well and it attacks and holds a lot of water, hence the weight gain.

Also, you are so very bright, communicative, witty and funny. I love your personality. I hope that your videos catch the eye of the Star makers. You deserve it.
