The best 3rd Party bruticus and the history of 3rd party combaticons:

Our journey actually starts with an official bruticus. The Transformers Classic Combaticons were a non-G1 style set of our favorite evil bots. Some were unhappy with the changes made to the set bringing us to fansproject in the year 2010. They had released two replacement figures in order to fit in style wise with the rest of the team. The two characters being Blast-Off and Swindle. A brown-purple space shuttle and a yellow jeep. The first fully fledged third party combaticon set wouldn’t come until the Warbotron set. From my research, it is very unclear the exact year the Warbotron set released. With sources giving me somewhere between 2013-2015. When the set was teased, it was a game changer. It wasn’t trying to be anything old, it was its own thing and it was spectacular. It even holds up to this date. Jumping forwards, we now arrive in the modern era of bruticus, where the demand of G1 has skyrocketed. While most decided to go with this route (we will cover it shortly.) there was one company in particular. Iron Factory. You probably recognize the name because of the fact that they are well known for their legends scaled figures. They came out with a bruticus later turned ruination. However, the set resembled more of the Generation one toy than the generation one cartoon. Which wasn’t bad, it just means it’s different. Now on the other side of things, there were two main competitors. Zeta toys and Unique toys. Both are not perfect, for example: The zeta toys set looks sub-par in robot mode (in my opinion) decent in alt mode, and was amazing in combined mode. It relied on an absurd amount of extra parts to achieve the end result. Which is the opposite of one that i will discuss in a bit. However, it was extremely stable and had the white torso which lacks from others. The unique toys one went a different route. It felt more G1 stylized with a mix of its own thing instead of a fully fledged G1 Bruticus. This, to me was a problem. Now this brings us to our last contender. Mastermind Creations Assaultus. The magnum opus of the company. This, was the gold standard bruticus. It was fully devoted to g1 in the alt mode and car mode and it was super majestic. It managed to pull off both its main gimmick and mass shifting. You may be wondering: “well what was its main gimmick?” the main gimmick was its all in one transformation. Thats right, this bot had no extra parts for assembly. However, some drawbacks to this. The legs were very unstable and the torso wasn’t accurate to the source material. The torso was because while there was definitely dark magic involved, there wasn’t that much involved. And the loose joints was because all the leg weight was put on onslaughts legs thus dragging it down. However, still an amazing set. That was my thoughts on Bruticus.
