I'm an ENFP that struggles with anxiety & depression and has had a hellish 2020 with everything that's been going on. I so relate to finding "rest" in old movies. I actually often find myself having phases where I can't mentally keep up with all the new TV shows I want to watch and end up re-bingeing shows i've seen hundreds of times (The Office U.S., Parks & Rec, Friends, etc) and now I can fully understand why I do this. I give up so much of my mental space to thinking about the future (and mostly being anxious about it) so I bring myself back to the present by putting on something familiar with no surprises so I can stop thinking ahead and simply just "enjoy" that moment.

You just made me realize why I’ve become so lazy and comfortable and why it bothers me. Lately I’ve been working on my Si (unknowingly) by trying to look deep into myself as to find some sort of answer as to what would make me more satisfied in life. I usually chase ideas but more recently I get too overwhelmed and discouraged opting towards sitting inside alone playing games or watch youtube. I have been relying on nostalgic activities to comfort myself instead of leaning into my impulses. I may be comfortable but I am not satisfied, now I see what needs to change.

I feel every ENFP has knowingly or unknowingly developed their Si in this pandemic and are now trying to get out of it

When you said we weren't analytical, I was like "Wait, but my job is highly analytical (Data Analytics)." But then I realized I enjoy the story telling, creating graphs way aspect more than the organizing of data. All of my decisions are usually based on my gut feelings.

You crack me up when you call us out on the lies we tell ourselves and others. XD "Shut up. We're not analytical."

Alright. I think I understand now why I love the 70s, 80s and 90s fashion and music culture.

In order to be logical, meditate. This will allow you to see past your emotions in the moment. You don’t have to act on emotion always.

NE -- I always seem to be on the forefront of every trend, the things I am into today are often trendy six months to a year from now. If I were able to develop my TE I might be able to monetize this "superpower" but so far it's just an interesting thing I've noticed

Oh my, this thing about old movies clicked so much for me, I just love rewatching Harry Potter movies. They’re my little comfort places, the only thing that put me to sleep after a tough breakup

I also think it's your development as a child, what you are exposed to. For me ENFP-A
TWO parents from different nationalities, religion, and culture . Very diff. even the languages. We lived SaudiArabia, Europe. For my diplomatic dad's job Traveling was phenomenal for me developing my mind.
So as an ENFP-A, I am a wiz in linguistic traits. Easy to fit in different cultures.

As an ENFP, one of the things that has been huge with connecting to my past is meditation and plant medicine like psilocybin mushroom. The latter is mind blowing.

Hi!!! Thank you very much for sharing ENFP development insights. I'm a total ENFP having hard time at work(disciplined environment). When I see the videos depicting ENFP personality.. I feel a bit down because it seems like we are ppl who can never make work done. But your video is guiding how to develop mature and successful ENFP personality :) Helps alot

My daughter is an ENFP and she hates talking about the past. She can’t say why but now it makes more sense to me and I understand. Thank you.

Omg... I was really like what you've described. In my early 20s, I liked too many things, I was attracted by most of the people.. I was so confused at that time.. I felt like my mind was like a messy room.
So I tried all the things that's appealing, I met many many different types of people. Sometimes other friends thought that I need to concentrate on one thing and be professional at it. And I a lot of times hated myself why am I like this.
I think l experienced like 3 times more than what normal people would.
Now I'm in late 20s and I'm more and more satisfied of the decision I'm making. I now know that even though people have attractiveness, there are few people whom I can sustain deep relationship with. Now I know what I don't like, now I know among many values what is more priority for me.
As you said, I know what I want faster, I know my life value priorities and I'm so satisfied of myself still continuously developing myself. 🙂🙂😊

Lol quarantine got me dropping right in to WAYYY too much Si 😂. Tbh it's good to know though as I often find when I'm feeling anxious that watching old shows and movies calm me down SOO much. It's a great way to relax for us when life is getting to be too much!

On another note, your videos are amazingly great for me specifically. The advice is spot on and hits home. Can you make a video on how you developed your functions? Any tips to practice are welcome :)
