In all seriousness, if all of this leads into us actually getting the God King Doom arc on screen? I’m all for it.

No matter how much it is explained. The simple fact is the casting screams of Marvel desperation, and also bringing in someone new would have breathed fresh air into the franchise and helped other actors out there. Making a variant of Stark detracts from Doom (master of magic, ruler of a country, genius, etc.) to make the character branch on his own terms. It would be good if they have this be a red herring to get the real Doom cause that could work. We shall see.

So Marvel’s basically taking franchises from other universes and making it to where they come into one main timeline with the Avengers, sounds kinda neat.

I’m going with the belief that Doctor Doom is a Tony Stark variant for several reasons… the Avengers: Secret Wars logo has the color way of Iron Man. Doctor Doom had “Doom bots” so maybe the real Doctor Doom will reveal himself. There’s no way that they would be able to hide the secret of RDJ being on set if he were to return to the MCU so this reveal has to be some type of a switch. I don’t think that RDJ is playing Victor Von Doom but would be a variant taking on the moniker of a Doctor Doom.

Ive wanted doom but i do agree that we have like no time to develop his character properly. we are basically at the tail end of the current timeline and the doomsday clock if you will is ticking. This gives us what we want while still being able to have a proper fleshed out doom with build up in the future

New mask, same task. The task is to create hype and bring back people to the theaters. The F4 teaser was lackluster, I can't even accept Pedro as Reed Richards or the Stranger Things guy as Torch. And why would they create an overcomplicated Tony Stark variant Doom story when they could simply give us the real Doom, based on the comics..?
