This video shows how to replace the battery in a APC Smart UPS 750. The official APC batteries are somewhat expensive so I used an off brand that has seemed to work fine.

Finally, someone has the whole video on how to do this. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the concise and clear video. Just updated my old UPS 750 with it's third set. Last replaced 10-16-2017. Took some elbow grease to get off the harness, and some gorilla tape to hold the Chinese replacements together. So far so good.

the APC Smart-UPS series are almost all hot-swappable batteries, meaning you can leave them plugged in while changing batteries.

but since you didn't replace them with APC batteries, it makes sense to be on the safe side.

Excellent video. Sorted me right out, followed the instructions to the letter, including the purchase of the exact same batteries. Mine didn't come out as easily as yours did, but that was the only hitch. Thanks so much for this, so very helpful

I am about to replace these batteries for the second time after some years. I opened it and went to Batteries Plus Bulbs and bought replacements. The good thing about that is they keep the old batteries and can dispose of them proper like. I imagine one could just go to an auto store or a Lowe's or something like that as well.

Bravo! Thanks. I managed but it was not easy as it seems ... the plugs were very tight 😳 but I managed. All set! Thanks, concise and precise.

The terminal size is ofcourse important but even more important is the physical size of the battery and ofcourse voltage (12V). The size used for this UPS is the most commonly used 151x65x94mm, Yuasa has a really good "made for UPS use" model NPW45-12, 8, 5Ah. If you can find that one below list price it will serve you well. I just replaced 100 of these (actually NPW36-12) that hat had been in use for 6 years, which is one year too long, and all were still in fairly good condition.

The video is clear, but you have to calibrate the new battery pack after you installed it. You can do this in the PowerChute package.

also recommend to put some duct tape under the batteries if you buy non APC ones, stick them together and make a tab at the front just like the original ones so it's easy to pull them out

One question, you pu inside 9A 12 Volts battery, but the original was 7, 2A. As the device is smart, did you have any issues to put the battery a 20 more powerful then the original? The second question if you had everything okay, did you notice a 20% more battery life comparing the original battery or the device charge your 9A battery to the 7, 2 A limit and no runtime plus noticed?

can I still open it when it’s at 100% battery? I got a replace battery warning and I wanna make sure my battery isn’t compromised so I can use it until I get new batteries

I had to replace the batteries in mine too. To modernize, have less environmental impact, and hopefully a longer service time, I bought this LiFePo4 variant (2x): GreenCell LiFePO4 Akku 10Ah 12.8V 151x65x95mm. Much cheaper than other ones, they fit perfectly, came with 64% charge and work as expected. I didn't do any measurements on capacity though.

First time changing the battery. I loaded the new battery, but the metal plate won't click into place. Pulled battery out and it is the appropriate size and the one suggested for my model APC750. The front plate won't click into place because the metal one suggestions?

I have a fair number of customers who have various versions of the APC Smart UPS 750.
Over the years the white push-pull plastic clips/rivets that keep the battery door closed have fatigued and fallen apart.
APC are unable to supply replacement ones and I can’t find any suitable alternatives anywhere.
Does anyone know of any replacements that will make a good alternative?
Currently I’m using cable ties to keep the battery door closed, which whilst very secure I’d like to do a proper job and replace the broken rivets.
Thank you 🙂

Do the original batteries have a Ah rating printed on them?

Has anyone had success using adapters to convert F1 terminals to F2 terminals? I've ordered two Yuasa batteries in order to do the trick mentioned in this video, but the terminal in the Yuasa is F1 unfortunately :((
