See, THIS is something you can never do in a crappy live-action remake.

There's no way you can argue he WASN'T meant to be the literal devil

Pinocchio NEEDS a dark “Something Wicked This Way Comes” style spinoff movie about Pleasure Island and The Coachman’s backstory.

Coachman in 1940 - A demonic joker human
In 2022 - A normal typical mustached human

I've been terrified of this image since childhood.

Disney really captured the heart with eyes and swords assault against the human sinner here.

I remember seeing bits of Pinocchio as a baby, but never got to the end until I was 5. This clip was the worst, granted the face was scary, but Charles Judels screaming “BOYS!!!” came straight outta hell.

My late grandmother was a professional artist who worked at Disney during the production of Pinocchio. Apparently, and I've yet to find anything to confirm this, but she was tasked with doing sketches for a particular storyboard related to the Postman and Pinocchio later in the story that were ultimately cut from the movie:

The storyboard involved the Coachman and Honest John giving chase to Pinocchio and Gepetto in their boat to stop them from going to the police after Pinocchio escaped from Pleasure Island (I definitely know there's some truth to this, as it was officially confirmed the original script included a scene where the Coachman recruited Honest John to recapture Pinocchio so "the law doesn't learn of our business").
However, whilst giving chase, their ship is noticed by Monstro. Already furious from the flames set off inside his tummy, the enraged giant whale turns his attention towards the Coachman's much larger ship instead, gobbling it up entirely & everyone on board including the Coachman, which allows Pinocchio and Gepetto the distraction necessary to get away in time.

One thing I always wanted to know and kept bugging my grandmother about was: what happened to the kids that were turned into donkeys? My grandmother said she was never given any info in relation to that, because she was only involved in the sketches for the storyboard mentioned above. She simply told me "Use your imagination, dear. That's the whole point of Disney".

If this really happened, I think Walt Disney made a huge mistake omitting this from the ending. As a disney movie, I think it#s essential to show that evil characters always get their comeuppance. And the idea of the monstrous Coachman being devoured by an even bigger monster (Monstro) would have been amusingly ironic.

The one thing that's missing in the live action Pinocchio is this horrifying face

I think the Blue Fairy is an angel and the Coachman is a demon disguised as a human.

I feel like Nicolas cage could make a smile that big! In fact, he should’ve been the coachman in the live action remake in my opinion

Now that this horrible moment in my childhood has been brought back, I'm still wondering about poor Alexander who could talk and just wanted to go home to his mama.
