Growing up in an abusive and tumultuous household with a mother who was absent half the time, your character brought peace and comfort into my life and I grew up wishing I had a mother like the one you portrayed. Watching LHOTP brought me the kind of life lessons I wasn’t getting at home. It presented a healthy stability and a calmness that stood in contrast to the chaos of my childhood. Whatever problems arose, the families on the prairie took them on and worked them out. Together. It gave me something to emulate as an adult and for that I’m grateful. Both for the show, and grateful for your wonderful portrayal of a wise and loving “Ma”.

I’m 64 and rewatching the entire series with our granddaughter. I was JUST telling my husband what an amazing actress you were in that series. You expressed so much emotion and internal fortitude with limited words. Every story took place on your face. The true craft of an artist.

Ma had such a beautiful smile, so warm and welcoming. All our family love this program, here in Ireland, many years ago. Both Grandparents, and parents gone now, and also my twin sister. Im 58 years old. May they Rest In Peace. Lovely fond memories. Regards from Ireland 🇮🇪 💚

I’m 54. A man. I grew up watching LH by reruns on a little idk 16” tv that was on a stand in my mama’s room. I didn’t understand a lot, but understood the love. Now, my wife and I watch LH every night. The love hasn’t changed and the smiles, laughs and even tears it still creates makes it timeless. You were a beautiful Ma and still a beautiful soul. I’m 52. I watched Little House on the Prairie my whole childhood and I watch it every day now and I have for many years. It is my happy place. It is my go to place when I’m upset, distressed, stressed, worried, scared whenever I need to see and feel true love and friendships! it is my heaven on earth to be able to go back to, the good old days like it was when I was growing up with my great grandparents. I thank you so much Karen for staying with the crew, even though you didn’t get the raise you wanted, even through all of the unknown turmoil the crew went through. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your hard work and for everything you put up with, to help make the movie Little House on the Prairie. you all will be remembered forever. Also, I have the little house book collection🥰 i’ll tell my husband all the time but more people need to watch this show so they can be more appreciative with the things they have they would act different.
