Thank you so much! I am currently in lessons and I basically take part in caring for the horse I ride, Pearl. She'll whiney, move around, etc when I'm brushing or tacking her up. Although, nothing spooks her. A dog lunged at her once and Pearl just looked at the dog as of she was saying, "You're stupid."

I like to introduce different ‘scary’ things to my horses. They have become desensitized to the point that when I danced around them with a large tyrannosaurus head, they just stood there and looked at me like, ‘you are such an idiot’.

I found this video very helpful. My mare is the worst about standing still at the mounting block. I'll be practicing this and also the one rein stop. She's a great little mare except for this and trailer loading, which we are also working on.

It made so much more sense that my horse hates standing still now. Thank you!

Hey Carmella! I love your videos, they have helped me and my horse learn and grow so much! I don't know if you do video requests but I would really love a video on helping your horse have a more responsive stop. Sometimes, my horse gets carried away (usually at the canter) and doesn't want to stop. It's really scary because I only get to stop when he wants to. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Thanks! My horse is herd bound and I like your tip about teaching her while she is in the field. I was trying to teach her in the barn first, and it was not working.

I love all your videos and how you explain all different scenarios! If a horse is scared of something what is the best approach if they are prancing around?

My mare rarely spooks, and when she does it’s usually just a shudder lol. Even on her first hack as a 3yr old, she walked under bridges with traffic that everyone else’s seasoned horses bailed up at

This was great! I have a pretty stubborn and wild paint. Wish she was as calm at Tucker! I really appreciate the tip about using one rein stop! I haven’t rode my horse on the trails with my family yet because i’ve been terrified my horse will spook and start galloping!! 😰 she’s afraid of the woods and not well trained like our others. That tip will stick in my mind now!!
