Mechanic Flies My Plane - TakingOff Ep 55

"Cessna" John Efinger gets in the left seat to fly the 210 across the Dallas bravo. In the back is Mark Zimmermann. They need to get to TKI so that the two can move a plane to John's hangar that's about to be due for its annual. If they don't fly it today, they'll need a ferry permit. We dial up flight following with Tracon and move over DFW.

I wouldn't schedule an appointment for that yoke mounted trim on/off switch install. I have flown numerous types of twins and singles with electric trim, and have not seen one yet. Autopilot disconnect, Yes. Trim on/off No. Nothing harder than flying an airplane and actually not be the one flying it. Good job. Enjoyed the video.

Transfer of control crew coordination in military, commercial and civilian (Corp/GA) aviation has been a thing for decades, not new. I got my CFI in 1993. I always explained to students day one, when I took control I'd say "I have control" and they say "you have control" (and let go of controls). Vice verse. Never stop flying unless I acknowledge. This is not new. It's normal crew coordination. There have been many accidents in all areas of flying because no one was flying. "I thought you had it".

As CFI you are not PIC if the other pilot is qualified, current, qualified in cat/class AND you are not giving instruction or acting as safety pilot. If you don't have CFI you are definitely not PIC.
