Because there are frequently delicate drivers at the front of speakers I strongly recommend that you no longer stick your hands inside the open section of the box then press against the speakers to remove them. You can damage a tweeter/midrange dome that way!
Next time after cutting and opening the box, lift all box flaps and turn it upside down. The foam on the ends will protect the cabinet and drivers from hitting the floor (no damage this way). Then you can remove the cloth like cover or the foam from the ends by standing the speaker on it's side to then open the fabric cover to remove it.
No risk to the drivers this way!
I hope this helps protect you from any possible future damage to a/all speakers you open.

high dude,
i'm planning to buy 2x of these centers and use them as main R-L bookshelf speaker with my stereo amplifier. Do you think it's a stupid idea? how does this speaker sound in stereo channel? according to crossover frequencies, they're same with bookshelf ones but just wanted to ask though.
