There's Ozu, mizoguchi, and since david lean is there on top, how about john ford for starters and then wyler, kazan, capra. Spielberg is good but better than polanski, altman, coppola? Pardon me for my transgressions but since bela tarr made it(no offence, he's definitely one of the doyens of the art), consider luis buñel. No nouvelle vague filmmakers? Is this your favorites because 15 is definitely small in comparison to the master this craft has produced. ( personally, entraced by works of lynch, mallick and wim wenders among others).
