Liam Neeson has told Sky News that he thinks Ireland reunification may happen in his lifetime

The 70-year-old Northern Irish actor told Beth Rigby Interviews: "I think it'll happen...but, you know, everybody has to be appeased." He spoke to Sky News ahead of the release of his hundredth film Marlowe.

I would like many others would be overjoyed to see a united Ireland in my lifetime and see the old animosities disappear. Now is, I believe, the best opportunity to move forward as a peaceful and united Ireland. Ireland has blessed the Western world with its people, mostly ejected for petty crimes and civil disobedience. England owes the Irish a united Ireland.

My family live in Co Antrim and i know for a fact that that community and many others will resist a united Ireland with every fibre of their being. Unless it’s united under a British flag 🇬🇧 and many other communities in ulster will too.

I’m from Northern Ireland. People here don’t want it. Financially it doesn’t make sense. I’m scared though that it actually might happen. A lot of are more open to the idea of it. Only time will tell.
