India-US 'war exercises' spook China; Beijing asks Delhi to not hold drills near LAC

China's defence ministry on Thursday said it was firmly opposed to any third party "meddling" in the border issue and hoped India will abide by the bilateral agreements not to hold military drills near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the very pacts it has been accused of violating in eastern Ladakh leading to a prolonged standoff, news agency PTI reported. Senior Colonel Tan Kefei, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defence (MND), made the comments while replying to question about reports of special forces of the US and India recently holding a joint combat exercise in the southern foothills of the Himalayas and their plans to conduct a joint military exercise code-named "War Exercise" (Yudh Abhyas) in October close to the border. China speaks of 1996 agreement!!! China broke that agreement multiple times by mobilizing troops in the lac region, tanks especially. And not to conduct military exercises? Then what was China jet doin in Ladakh region few days back? Taking a stroll or stretching out its wings??

As an American most if not all would wholeheartedly support this. Can't imagine sharing a border with China and the fact that India gave so much to Sri Lanka and yet they still allowed China to park their spy ship on the island is just one of the many examples of China saying one thing then doing another. I'm not too familiar with the LAC situation with India and China so I shouldn't comment but I'm going to assume China is simply claiming land that is part of India over some historical bullshit claim 100 years ago? Apologies if I got it wrong and may have offended others, this just tends to be the pattern with Chinese foreign policy.

While training with the Us india has been also cautious. Cause giving false hopes and leaving nations on wars and after turmoil is kind of a hobby for the US . So not dependent on Us and at the same time relying on selves is the best option for India right now.

LAC agreement applies to both stake holders and it is not a one way trafic. China always thinks that agreement rules apply only to India. It join hands with Pakistan in westen sector against the interest of India and involved in construction of infrastructure in Gilgist-Baltistan area which is a disputed land and again occupied a part of Kashmir land area. Further, it conducted live war drills close to the LAC violating border agreement. Whereas, India is proposed to conduct a war drill in terms of QUAD agreement far away from border and fully honouring the agreement entered into.

I have been begging the government, to do military Joint drills with US in uttrakhand, Japan in Arunachal, Vietnam in Sikkim, Philippines and korea in Ladakh at the same time.

When China does not hold to the mutual agreement of not amassing troops near the LAC, all other agreements, if any are OFF the table as well. Once trust is broken, there is no more agreements. Period.

In contested border issue China comparatively has more to loose than gain!
Not alone India but unity of 1.4 Billion in India and rest abroad is far dangerous for China. I can clearly say China dispose in shackles, you cannot underestimate soft and battle hardened hard power of India.
