This video is part 1 of 4 of the Sentence Structure series. The focus of this episode is the simple sentence (the most basic sentence type in the English language). This video covers independent clauses, compound subjects, and compound verbs. There's also an introduction to dependent clauses. I break down the sentence to the most basic parts, and then we build longer and longer examples with some simple structures. Knowing how to build simple sentences correctly is important to knowing how to write long sentences in English. The other 3 videos in this series build on the key points introduced here.
