On Earth, the sun appears to be yellow. But sunlight isn't actually made of just one color. It contains a multitude of colors that can be found on the color spectrum. Due to Earth's atmosphere, we only see some color photons. It's the same reason why the sky appears blue.

The sun is gradually and slowly appearing more yellow in the sky again. All the air pollution that was diluting the atmosphere making the sun appear a lighter shade of yellow is being cleared out, thanks to the corona lockdown. Its lovely to watch and nostalgic reminding of the sun of my youth.

Look at most child drawings, and you'll see the sun depicted as a yellow ball. Even many adults associate the color yellow with the star found at the center of the solar system. But the Sun isn't actually yellow; it's just an illusion caused by the Earth's atmosphere.

The powerful processes happening inside the Sun are so robust that it emits every color of light imaginable. Together, these colors form a pure white light, which is precisely what you'd see from space.

On Earth, however, the atmosphere filters much of the 'cool' light spectrum, leaving the 'warmer' colors visible to us instead. The filtered blue light refracts from atmospheric molecules, causing the blue appearance of our sky.

During times of sunrise and sunset, the colors of the Sun appear warmer than usual; this means orange or red instead of yellow. This is because of the angle of the Sunlight and the fact that it needs to pass through more atmospheric molecules to reach you. The sun is a very central part of our solar system and the learning more facts about the sun can always prove to be interesting.

If a kindergartener in the USA colors a picture of the Sun, they will usually make it yellow. However, a kindergartener in Japan would normally color it red!

In spite of these "artistic licenses", the Sun really is white!

Believe it or not, the sun is white and has the temperature of a yellow star. Alpha Centauri A is actually yellow with a hotter surface temperature than our sun, while Alpha Centauri B is orange.

I once found out, if you have a certain angle on a metal object / wall or anything made of metal, there will be a perfect circle of rainbow when you look at it.

I had read a different explanation, it talked about the waves length, smallest particles in the atmosphere, and the angle of view.
It's more logic for me.
