Advantages of real-world data compared with randomized clinical trials

Jeremy Warner, MD, Brown University, Providence, RI, discusses some of the challenges and limitations of conducting clinical trials, as well as some of the advantages of using real-world data in clinical research, such as in the investigation of rare diseases. Dr Warner also discusses a recent paper which found that relaxing some of the common criteria for clinical trial participation did not have a large impact on outcomes. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2022 Congress in Paris, France.
