Converting low voltages to Super high voltages is quite practical
In this video, I will show you how to make voltage transformers using ferrite cores, as well as winding the transformer in the simplest possible way with a handy tool at Home
For this high voltage boost transformer project, you can use MOSFET z44 or irf530 or transistors like tip122 d880 to make the circuit .

Also, at the end of the video, I show how to make a voltage multiplier circuit using a capacitor and diode and multiply the voltage. Note that this circuit is often used in flybacks-plasma-arc generator-shockers and igniters, so be careful.

At normal atmospheric pressure, it's 25KV per inch of spark. It's easy to ballpark the voltage of a discharge. A 400KV discharge is 16" long.

Лучше взять строчный трансформатор типа ТДКС. Там искра - так искра. А иногда в такой трансформатор встраивают высоковольтный конденсатор, так если его подключить параллельно вторичной обмотке, то искры будут трещать как у шокера.

Thats exactly what I did with my home made 18, 00, 000v stun gun, I had the terminals too far apart to begin with for a cool zap spark, but didn't realize that it was still holding the charge when I went to move them closer together heh heh heh, wow I was broken for days...

If we want to power the transformer with a direct current source, it will not work. This is because no voltage will be generated. Voltage is generated in the secondary winding, but to generate it, a variable magnetic field flux must appear.

It's more like a step-up transformer. The frequency remains the same. Induction in the primary coil causes wireless transmission to the secondary coil, a concept invented by Tesla and utilized in the Tesla Tower.
