The Arabs were enslaving Africans a thousand years before the Europeans came to the coast. The Arabs also tried to destroy the ancient Egyptian monuments, but couldn’t because they were so well built and engineered.

"When the French came to Egypt." Why does his story start there? What about the Romans who had constant contact with Egypt? Or the Greeks? We never hear accounts from these people that the inhabitants of North Africa had the completion of sub-Saharans. Except the French economy wasn’t build on racism/slavery, which is something many people think, but all the counties who participated in the trans Atlantic slave trade where not build on slavery. It wasn’t even that profitable compared to other trades

When and who decided slavery was 'racialised'? I think that was decided 100s of years later by race baiters.

Legitimate question: how was it “newly rediscovered”? I assume not every pyramid had to be unearthed, i.e. Giza. Were these things discovered at some point, lost to time but documented, then lost to time again until they were rediscovered or did he misspeak and meant “newly discovered”?

Let's not forget Britain stopped slavery, the first empire to do so across oceans. I won't defend the french, but to band up all european empries is unfair. Britian is separate and unique from the others.
