It was when I was a kid
I was feeling depressed and was wandering the
streets with my sad thoughts...

I heard this strange sound, that I've never heard before..
I followed it, and came to this building where sick and old
people go to die...
As my heart led the way to the sound in the field...I hid behind a bush, where I saw a person, with a whistle..and he was playing so beautifully ...the sound combinations, the patterns touched my heart, and I cried so deeeply to myself, trying to not be heard, for fear of disturbing his magic sound making...
He motioned for me to come over...and he asked me,
"how ya doing? "
I told him I was amazed to hear his flute, it called to me, ..
I asked to see it, and it was so small, nothing like i've seen with music class in elementary school..."the recorder" or "bass flute" that the school bands use.

It was a really small whistle, (a little bigger than a mc donalds drinking straw) yet he was able to produce amazing sound combos that reached my heart and pulled
me out of a bad thought train, i was riding...

it's been over 60 yrs, i have never forgetten this magical instrument. like it was yesterday.

Hi Stephanie, the Arabian whistle sounds wonderful. It reminds me a little of the Turkish ney flute. I have got the measurements to make a ney flute. Having the measurements is one thing, having the skills to do it is another. I have bought enough PVC tubing to have about four attempts, but don't hold your breath on ever hearing it on YT.

I love the sound of Erik's Arabian and Vivaldi whistles! Did you try any other whistles made by Erik? I did try one of Erik's C carbon fiber whistles, but had trouble even playing simple scales and wondered if it was just me. I love my inexpensive Woodi and Woodnote in keys of C and D whistles and have made great improvement with practice, but some of the higher notes are difficult to reach reliably and consistently, so I was more than willing to pay extra.
