The Labour Party doesn’t trust him. That was the call from Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern as she suspended Hamilton West MP Gaurav Sharma from its caucus. However, it isn’t over just yet for the rogue MP, he could make a return if he behaves. But what does the Labour Māori Caucus think? Here’s political reporter Te Okiwa McLean.

"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas"
Labour MP Gaurav Sharma asked for help re bullying, so they bullied him some more, ganged up and cancelled him - lets hope he goes independent and continues whistle blowing.

Bullying in the workplace should be made a Crime, because it is dangerous and effects people's well-being and life, seriously.
GOD ALMIGHTY is exposing evil in high places Worldwide and Judgements are happening here there and everywhere.

we need a proper news service that doesn't lean left and isn't a mouth piece for the government.

The allegations made by Dr Sharma are serious. It seems like all this bullying started because he was bringing to light the wrongdoings of others. He is not a career politician. If one was to look further into his background, one would see that in addition to his medical qualifications, he also has an MBA. He is very intelligent and passionate about public policy and making life better for others in a larger scale. Hence, his lack of tolerance to bullying and mishandling of public funds. One might say that he shouldn't have joined politics, naive maybe. I cannot believe the extent of bullying that had taken place under the nose of JA. McAnulty has so much to answer, from what is said, he seems to be the biggest bully and gets away with it. It is surprising that Labour and JA have not taken this seriously. The public needs to understand the role of an MP before casting assumptions and casting blame. An MP is elected by the people "for the people" NOT for the party. It would be different if he was a List MP. As a duly elected MP his foremost duty is to the people, NOT to the party, that comes second. An elected MP should always do what is right for the people and if there is wrong doings in the caucus and party, rather than towing the party line, that MP's foremost duty is to ensure that the wrongdoer is made accountable by bringing this to the attention of the right person, so that the wrongdoing stops and if he/she is unable to get the party to rectify this, instead of towing the party line and becoming an accomplice to this, resign and/or make it known to the public because the public has a right to know and seek justice! This is exactly what Dr Sharma has done. Instead of being judgemental and/or biased about this, just call the PM to hold a independent public inquiry to this. If the PM does not take allegations of corruption and bullying seriously, how can the govt expect our employers to do so?

Thank you Dr Gaurav Sharma for your courage and integrity...I'm sorry that politics is such a lonely place for those who live by their principles. Know that the injustice you have been dealt has been seen and felt by many who support you and who are also ex Labour voters.

I have been a Labour supporter all my life. However I find the decision to suspend this MP disgusting because he has exposed and called out a culture of bullying that exists not just in politics but all walks of life. I would have thought that the Labour Party of any political group would have understood this sentiment. Am disgusted with you Jacinda. Considering now to vote National unless there is a big turnaround with your attitude towards bullying and admitting it has happened under your watch.
I too have been bullied by my managers in my workplace in an educational setting in New Zealand and have been told to pull my head in or face the consequences when I have tried to protect or empathize with students who were exploited by unfair administrative practices, including Maori and oversees students. JACINDA, pull your head in, get your act together, or face the

Yes, my respects and full support Te Whanau a Te Karere, maintaining this Atea for Discourse, Dialogue and Discussion ( 3xVit D Vax) when so many of us, people/s are looking for a show of courage, a display of journalistic integrity. In such short supply now, the simple act of allowing for Comments elevates your standing and further spotlights the cowardly betrayal of the majority of NZ's current affairs, news and journo scriveners.

Unfortunately our "representatives" aren't there to represent us. They are there to do the bidding of the party. Something needs to change. Also, like it or not, the Labour Party needs to have an independent inquiry into this. In Sam's case, it was 20 odd years ago. In this case, it is current. Which is more relevant and important?
