What of Indigenous Art Now?

This panel examines different perspectives on the renewed visibility of indigenous people in visual art since the 1992 resurgence, which followed the 500th anniversary of the great navigational mistake of Christopher Columbus. This resurgence brings both challenges and advantages: What is the role of Institutions? How has this resurgence effected the advancement of rights of indigenous people? Who chooses which artists become the voices for a range of tribes? How can more voices be supported?
