i still love this movie. admittedly it made a lot more sense when i was a teenager though. i basically had already created an internal world full of angst and darkness and romantic desperation to project onto just about anything and it all really stuck when projected on the nightmare before christmas. plus it was visually and musically gorgeous. i'm still a fan.

Jack and Sally’s romantic relationship never made sense to me because it was so one sided until the movie did a full 180 and decided that they needed romance for some reason. Sally was the only one that cared and Jack pretty much ignored her and treated her like someone doing his homework for him. Then at the end he’s all “I’ve been ignoring you this whole time but now I love you.”
