Blur b-sides are gems! All bands should have an special gig to perform their b-sides imho

I'm so glad they played Polished Stone, it's one of their very best songs and it kills me it never ended up on an album. "You pick me up by my bones and say I'm sand to polish stones"

Tame sounds killer without those squiggly synths

I was there. It was a few months after I moved to London from abroad and it was my first time seeing them.

This gig is legendary!! Plus it's in the '13' era too which makes it even better. I i were to add 5 songs to the gig it would be Peter Panic, Theme From An Imaginary Film, Ultranol, All Your Life and All We Want. That would have been awesome!!

Blur's b-sides were consistently high quality, often leaving one wondering how they never made the grade. In many instances they eclipsed the album tracks and singles, e.g. "Threadneedle Street" and "Tame" IMHO were much, much better than "Girls & Boys" and "Country House", or indeed much of 'The Great Escape'.

Read about this gig in melody maker at the time and now finally getting around to hearing it a mere 22 years later.

Am I the only one who thinks that The Great Escape B-sides are amazing?

55:15 I remember always searching for a live version of this song but could never find one. So glad it’s included in this

Damn, they're rendition of Down in this gig was soooo good! It makes the original song 10x better. The drums in particular are a massive step up in oomph.
I wish they actually re-recorded some of these songs in the studio - they're so much better. The noise of the audience stops this from being a great listen overall.
