I don't know why this guy gives me vibes of great old school programmers always when I watch his videos.

Some excellent points within this video. I’ve seen several individuals jump into building out SaaS solutions without applying appropriate business processes (product-market fit, competitor analysis, cost structuring, or even a simple business model canvas, etc.) that one should consider before undertaking such a project. With that said, they’re usually doing it more out of passion, so it’s great for their learning (and I’m sure they’re enjoying themselves, initially). Still, it usually materialises into what can only really be described as a side project and not a business. Yes, it does seem (to me, at least) that ‘coding’ is an oversimplification of the job description. Software Engineering is probably more appropriate, esp. in larger organisations. You may be (as you gain experience and seniority) to transition into more architecture-orientated roles, which you should also be considering if you’re freelancing — which would look great on a CV (if you can talk about building out a systems architecture, touch a little on security and infrastructure as well as deployment and building the actual solution). Great video, lots of important information packed into 6 minutes!

Been in the IT desktop/server support world for over 10 years, the past week I've been learning some Java from scratch as I want to move into coding and I'm quite enjoying the java coding at the moment, however, I did see a previous video with you talking about potentially looking at going the Javascript route just for the job potential for folk with no experience over Java. I picked Java because I love the idea of making something i.e. desktop/mobile app side and I know or atleast from what I have heard JS is more towards web development which I wasn't too keen on as I've never really thought about doing web side stuff.

You've got me thinking about what direction to go now lol.
