From where you are facing the hut, face the village and then proceed to the first tent thing you find. Then either to your left or the one nearest ahead of you, you should be able to find dynamite. The game normally gives you 4-5 dynamite each time you load the game or sleep. The best place for resources is there. :)

I really hope they have a new landmass DLC in development, the game is at a great state but the game world space itself is getting stale.

It works, but just to point out you just went in a circle around the camp. I have found that it's easier/quicker if you get to the hills first either like you just did, or simply following the beach past the sinkhole. When you get there go east to the crevice between the hills and when between them go straight towards the hill on your right. Then you will easily find the hut with the red paint just outside the village. Hope this helps.

Edit: you could do this by following the edge of the forest on your right, it leads to the same place.

My plane crashed next to that large camp and I just started the game, I made my base right next to it, I have been wondering why there where so many cannibals coming to my base

A quick hack to get the map & compass just for someone reading this!
1. Die by the cannibals or fall from a high ground.
2. You appear in a cave.
3. Untie yourself by taking the axe under you.
4. Walk around the room in the cave that you got put in.
5. And there you should find the compass and the map.
6. Go back to your base and enjoy!
(Also before dying, build some shelter or a mark to let yourself know where the wreck is.)

When I got to that village it started raining and then I got jump-scared by lightning. Then I turned and one of “them” was right there next to me and screamed. I nearly dropped the controller and had to pause and get some herbal tea. Wtf. At least I’ll have more water back at camp.

You can get explosive and modern axe too if you guys all still explore the cave forward until you find some cave that goes down again with rope but there is a skeleton head lamp that mark the place
