Friction Fire Day - Intro and Making the tinder Bundle - Next72Hours

A day spent at Matthews house working on Friction Fire techniques - we tried the fire bw drill with a couple of different woods and the bamboo fire saw.

What did we learn from this day

- proper tinder bundle is essential
- prepare your tinder, kindling and wood early and keep it dry
- this takes time and effort, prepare well because unlike the movies and YT pros this is not as easy as you think
- This is NOT as easy as it looks so please learn from us - always keep a back up / guaranteed fire started with you such as matches, lighter or ferro rod
- things like moisture, humidity and physical strength can make a huge difference to getting a fire going, practice makes perfect - try it with your friends and children - let them learn too they will love it

Above all this is a lot of fun, getting out there and trying it is the only way to learn what works and what does not work, what is easier and what is not.
