Can you recommend a true full-sun Florida Native plant, with shallow roots? My front yard does not have ANY shade, so it gets sun all day, and I'm having a hard time finding plants that can survive the heat, except lavender (which is beautiful).

6:56 - It can get REALLY hot and dry sometimes. Yesterday it was apparently hot and sunny enough to nearly evaporate all the water in my bird bath and small fountain. At 6pm, the 6" basin for the fountain was half empty and the birdbath had a thin sheen of water left when I went out to check on things... and I had topped them both off yesterday morning. A number of potted cuttings and seedlings were showing pretty severe stress wilt too. This morning I gave everything a pretty deep drink of water and the butterflies have been taking advantage of any exposed, moistened soil. So much so that I rewet some spots around noon just to keep them hydrated.

Coming on here for help if anyone could tell me, I’ve got a dwarf cavendish banana plant and the flower looks stuck as the stem of the flower hasn’t come out enough and the bananas are semi inside the actual banana stem. Is this normal or have I got a dud crop 😢
