Kuala Lumpur is one of our favorite Asian cities.

As a melting pot of cultures, Malaysia's allure lies both in its bustling streets and its stunning skylines. This Asian peninsula was once home to the tallest buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers. While they no longer hold that record, they remain a monument to Malaysian forward-thinking. Signs of Malaysian innovation don't stop there. All you have to do is visit some of the country's bigger cities to experience its contemporary way of life.

If you want to move to Malaysia, Irena Prgomet, our assistant operations manager, shares three ways to get residence in Malaysia in this video.

RM 40K per month external income is going to exclude a lot of people.
A retireee with that kind of money is not going to choose Malaysia, unless they really, really like the place.
Just saying.

I was told that for SMM2H, we cannot use rental income or dividend to meet the RM7, 000 per month criteria. Is this true ?

Malaysia is quite a restrictive Muslim Malay nation. It is only 1 incident from genocide.

Am I the only one that hates when cameras are changed so the person talking is not looking at the camera? It’s so annoying to me. I don’t know who started this trend I see everywhere now, but I think it’s totally distracting and annoying. It’s just not needed. It doesn’t make it a better video imho. Am I alone? 😆

I really enjoy this channel so I don’t wanna come off as blasting it. I guess you can decide by the replies to my comment if others feel the same.

Just a thought before you even consider to move to Malaysia. What our government want, doesn't really reflect what the local people want. We dont want israeli, mainland china and north korean. Those were proven to be troublemakers. No matter how rich you are, we never needed your money. We dont want anyone with criminal records back in your home country. We want you to respect our official religion - Islam, the local people, and the local culture. We dont need you to compare us to any other countries - if those countries are much better than us, then you belong to somewhere else. I once told off a european friend to go back their own country because of this, and since then he behaves well. We get it, you want to live cheap. Yes cost of living here is cheaper compared to america or europe, but our people is not cheap. Some of us speaks and understand foreign language of yours, but we like to play dumb just to see your true colour. We are nice people but if you crossed the line, you must live with the consequences. You want respect, you give respect. And we all can live in harmony, simple as that.

The provided information reg Sarawak option is outdated and inaccurate in one but important aspect. I've noticed this is happening quite often on this site. Better, safer and cheaper to research and apply locally

Malaysia is ONLY for the rich. The Malaysian gov’t has raised the required financial obligations to stay and retire, very, very high. Malaysia is a total no-go for the average retiree. Look elsewhere.

So Malaysia only wants rich people right?
80% of the world's population cannot afford this.
And I get why a developing country like Malaysia wants to encourage wealthy foreigners, it boosts the economy.
But Malaysia needs to ask is Malaysia really that special?
Hmmmm ...
As a foreigner from a 1st world country I think it just isnt that special. sure its nice and I enjoy the culture and the people but honestly this whole MM2H program is designed to bring money into the country.

S-MM2H also requires a fixed deposit of RM150, 000 in addition to the monthly income requirements. And it used to allow pass holders to live in other parts of Malaysia, but some report their pass specifically says they must reside in Sarawak.
