In this video we are showing you how to remove and replace the radio on a Mercedes M Class ML W163. It will be the same from 1998 all the way to 2005. Even if your radio does not have the big screen it is still the same procedure.
It is very simple when you use the special tools. You can purchase them on eBay or Amazon for less than $2.00 free shipping.
If you cannot get the tools a nail fail will work as well in most cases.
It will not take you more than 2 minutes to do it yourself.

Great video, guys. In my case, the 2 buttons on the left (low gear and fog lights switch snapped off and they're dangling behind radio. Seeing your video and radio removing tools gave me the idea rather than trying to remove the entire dash console to include the crazy air bag removal ordeal... We'll see how it goes. MB doesn't give much information about this....thanks!

can someone explain what each wire/harness does? looking to replace my radio since buttons don’t work so i can’t enter my security code to use the radio and most radios im looking at only have two harnesses and a place for antenna. basically, do all of these cables that were in the factory bose radio need to be used in the new radio? i know the one im looking to purchase doesn’t have space for the gray ended wire that you first pulled out in the video.

my foglight button got pushed down behind the dash console...ooops. i had on gloves and was using a bit too much force. can i access the button/wiring if i take out the stereo? is there an open space on the left of the stereo compartment once removed? or is the area of the bay solid? thx!
