25 recipes in 25mins: TOFU DÖNER 🥙

In honor of the national German „Dönerstag“ we have this beautiful Tofu Döner today! 😋
RECIPE (2 servings, 20min prep time):
-200g smoked or extra firm tofu
Peel into slices with a peeler.
Add to a pan with hot oil.
-1 Tsp each cumin, paprika, chicken spice
-1/2 Tsp each garlic, ground coriander
-1 Tbsp dark soy sauce
-salt to taste
Fry for a few minutes until golden.
Quick salad:
-1 cucumber
-a handful tomatoes
-1/2 bunch parsley
-juice of 1/2 lemon
-salt to taste
Chop the veggies and mix.
Garlic sauce:
-200g unsweetened vegan yogurt
-1 clove garlic, minced
-1/2 tbsp white wine vinegar
-salt to taste
-a pinch of sugar
Mix well.
To assemble:
-2 Döner Flatbreads
Assemble your Döner and take a BIG BITE.🤤

Zu Ehren des Dönertags gibt es heute diesen wunderschönen Tofu-Döner! 😋
REZEPT (2 Portionen, 20 Minuten Zubereitungszeit):
-200 g geräucherter oder extra fester Tofu
Mit einem Sparschäler in Scheiben schneiden.
Mit heißem Öl in eine Pfanne geben.
-je 1 TL Kreuzkümmel, Paprika, Brathähnchengewürz
-1/2 TL je Knoblauch, gemahlener Koriander
-1 EL dunkle Sojasauce
-Salz nach Geschmack
Einige Minuten goldbraun braten.
Schneller Salat:
-1 Gurke
-eine Handvoll Tomaten
-1/2 Bund Petersilie
-Saft von 1/2 Zitrone
-Salz nach Geschmack
Das Gemüse hacken und vermischen.
Knoblauchsauce:
-200g ungesüßter veganer Joghurt
-1 Knoblauchzehe, gehackt
-1/2 EL Weißweinessig
-Salz nach Geschmack
-eine Prise Zucker
Gut mischen.
Sonstiges:
-2 Döner-Fladenbrote
Döner zusammen bauen und einen GROSSEN BISS nehmen.🤤

Ich hab tatsächlich genau heute ein Fladenbrot gekauft und einen Großteil der restlichen Zutaten habe ich auch Zuhause - Morgen Abend wird es also definitiv Vöner geben :))

Es ist wirklich unglaublich wie du deinen aktuellen Workload aushältst!
Aber sei gewiss: falls du es nicht den ganzen Monat lang schaffen solltest wird dir niemand verübeln die restlichen tollen Rezepte über die nächsten Monate zu strecken.

I prefer non smoked tofu as the smoked one tends to have a distinct taste. I use a bit more spice and keep like a third a bit longer in the pan so that there are some that are more firm like others (just like in a dönerbude :D) Apart from that we have pretty much the same recipe! I eat it all the time!

Definitely going to try this - I didn't have a doner in so long.

But no doner for me without red cabbage. For anyone who also feels strongly about red cabbage on doner, this is my favorite recipe for it:

1/2 head red cabbage
3 tbsp olive oil
1 large lemon
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar

- chop red cabbage into very thin slices
- combine oil, lemon juice, salt
- add cabbage and mix/shake/rub/massage well to coat marinade all over cabbage
- place in fridge for 30 min
- add sugar if desired and mix again

22.1.25: Today, I finally tried out this receipt. I am in heaven 🤤🤤🤤. Sooo lecker, the tofu is spicy, the souce is fresh and delicious. Perfect combination. 👌
This is definitely a valid substitute for traditional Döner for me. And to be honest, also less expensive, just saying.😉

In the last few days I was craving dönner and today I made this recipe. I followed the instructions precisely and it was pure deliciousness. Thank you, Maya! Dönerstag, hab ich noch nie gehört, klingt aber super 😂 Leider hab ich noch nie einen Döner gegessen, weil ich Vegetarierin bin. Mit diesem Rezept könnte ichs mal probieren 😊 danke!
