In this episode of the Mindfulness journeys, doula and yoga therapist Emily Gold talks about how having a brain tumor at the age of 24 made her discover yoga and mindfulness.
Experiencing the mind-body connection was a powerful way to support her during her healing. The second transforming event she talks about is the home birth of her son and the time as a new mom. She describes how her practice helped her be with the moments of pain and overwhelm, not only during childbirth, but also in everyday life with a young child.
She also talks about how we can practice in the midst of a pandemic and the protests around racial injustice that take place all over the world.
After telling us about her own journey, Emily guides us into a wonderful loving-kindness meditation (Metta).

Emily trained as a yoga teacher and therapist and is currently on her way to becoming a spiritual psychologist. She teaches many different yoga courses like fertility support courses, yoga for children and yoga therapy for anxiety and depression.

Emily, it was really interesting to hear the story of how you were introduced to mindfulness and meditation and how it has supported you throughout your life. And the metta meditation was just perfect. Thanks Jessica and Two Wings for bringing stories like this to us all!
