I can feel this hitting different and nostalgic in a couple of years

In the original series, there were references to the yin and yang styles of ninjutsu. The chakra colors for these two styles were blue and red respectively (just like how Boruto and Kawaki's marks are blue and red). This is further shown in that they are swirling around one another like a yin-yang orb. Also, yin is associated with water (one of Boruto's chakra natures) and yang with fire (Kawaki is revealed to have fire nature chakra In the latest chapter).

In flashbacks in the original series, Madara Uchiha tells Hashirama Senju of a theory where opposing forces worked together in order to bring harmony. The two of them (once opposed) worked together in order to create Konohagakure. However, they once again became enemies, and their conflict created many of the ninja world's problems down the line.

The first scene of the series shows Boruto and Kawaki fighting over a destroyed Konoha. This suggests that Yin and Yang are once again out of balance, and war will return to the world.
